Symbian dead?

Postby brem » Wed Sep 18, 2013 10:05 pm

I remember a while back that Symbian is an OS for phones, namely for Black Berry, but is it even still around? Blackberry must have a whole new OS since they upgraded and went to go up against the likes of iphone, android and windows. But what happened to it? Was Symbian shut down?

It's been done for some time now. It's an outdated OS for outdated phones, they could have upgraded to a whole new OS and still called it Symbian, but I think people hated it so they never wanted to hear the name again. I personally hated any device with the Symbian OS and I'm glad it's officially done for.

Blackberry is in last place in the mobile phone market, at least I think it is. I know it's Android, iPhone, Windows phone and I can't think of what is in 4th, 5th and so on. Blackberry is clearly after Windows phone and that's not good. You have so much to choose from when you have these platforms already.
