The premise of Parent2Child is help keep your child aiming for success by sending them affirmation texts. The app sends you the text, which you can then forward to your child.

When you open up the app for the first time, you are prompted to enter in your phone number. This is to be expected as you have to receive the texts before sending them. The app then prompts you to select one of three plans. Either plan will net you five free affirmation texts to start which is a nice touch.

The plans are as follows: Primary gets you one text a week for about four per month. Intermediate doubles that. Finally, there is. Advanced, which is the max plan and will get you sixteen texts per month at about four per week. The current prices are $2.99, $4.99 and $10.99 respectively. These are SMS texts after all, so some type of paid plan is to be expected.

Once you select your plan, you will immediately begin receiving texts. These texts run the gamut of typical family, school and extracurricular situations. Some texts have an "input field", where you can customize it to include your family pet name, or your child's current sports activity. One of the texts for example said, "Thanks for feeding and taking care of [insert pet's name]. I appreciate how responsible you are". Another said, "You're sounding really good on [insert musical instrument]. I enjoy listening to you practice".

Simply copy the text and paste it into the message window of your loved one. Change the variables if need be and hit send. It's as simple as that. We tested the app over two week period and received unique texts each time at regular intervals. As this happens in the background, each text is a pleasant surprise as sometimes you forget you have the app installed. What we like about this is, the surprise you get when you receive the text would be enough to remind you to regularly give your loved one words of affirmation. They matter!
