I suppose from time to time, we’ve all wanted to run an Android application on the desktop. I myself know that there are a few games and applications that I would like to have a bigger screen for. I know that I like to run different OS’s from time to time in virtualization. This is where Blue Stacks comes in. You may ask, “What is BlueStacks?”

BlueStacks is a virtual player for Windows that enables the user to run Android onto the desktop. It is software that is similar to Vmware or Parallels. You knew that it was going to happen. Yes BlueStacks enables you to run a full Android OS on your Windows PC. You can multitask and switch back and forth from Android to Windows and back. You don’t have to toggle back and forth between OSs. You will be able to click on an Android app and use it. Your favorite Android app will be your favorite PC icon.

BlueStacks is software that enables Android and Windows to share utilities and drivers. In other words, you can print something within Android via your Windows drivers, or make a call in Android’s Skype application via Windows’ VOIP driver’s. The only bad drawback that I see is there is no access to the Android market, but you could always visit the mall, the GiveMeApps mall that is.

Just announced today was the release of the Alpha testing of this software. I know that I for one am going to try it. I’ve been waiting for over six months now. You can get the Android app player here. Once you have that installed, you need to go to the market and get BlueStacks Cloud Connect. So what are you waiting for? Go get the software to run Android on your desktop!
