Sometimes you can’t have too much of a good thing! Flappy Mania is here to stay and since the gameplay has been duplicated by countless of other imitators, it’s always refreshing to see something unique in fray. Fly Balloon, Fly version 2 is such a game and brings some cool updates which makes it a better download than the first.

How Is It Different

In typical Flappy games, you are required to tap to fly. Fly Balloon, Fly expands on the concept. Instead of navigating a bird, you direct a balloon. Keeping your finger on the screen drags the balloon down toward the bottom of the screen while releasing your finger lefts you drift toward the sky. Like most games in this genre, you have to avoid obstacles otherwise you’ll have to start over.

Version 2 adds customizable backgrounds for levels. By entering the settings menu, you can toggle which backgrounds appear. Starting over brings up a different background, so if you like one only, you can use that as your exclusive background. Backgrounds include Day Time, Night Time, Outer Space and Desert Town. There is even a toggle for Rocket Man, which can only be acquired if you unlock it by getting a score of fifteen.

Verdict

Gameplay has not changed much since the first, but having new backgrounds and other options does allow for a slightly enhanced experience. It is more playable than most flappy games and you get a surprise here and there which makes things a bit more fun. The day time background features confetti thrown from the sky which can be a bit distracting, but entertaining. The toughest thing to figure out is navigation since it differs from what you may have experienced with similar games in this genre.

You can’t go wrong with Fly Balloon, Fly. It’s sure to provide gamers with lots of enjoyment.
