The most exciting time of the year in sports is upon us. It’s that time. Like Dick Vitale would say, “March Madness Baby”. 2 points, 3 points, a slam-dunk with these apps. People I know don’t even pay attention to the collegiate basketball season until now.

Are you looking to grab the action as it happens where you travel? Do you need help putting together that office bracket? Starting tonight March 14 through April 2. Have we got some March Madness app recommendations for you!
NCAA March Madness Live (Android, iOS Free) This app is free, but sometimes free comes with a catch. The no-cost version offers stats, scores, alerts and live game radio for all 67 games. However, if you really want to watch the live broadcast of any and all games. Four dollars isn’t a bad investment if you’re consumed by the madness, but for some, the free version with game radio might be sufficient. You only have to subscribe once to view the games on any mobile device that you may own.
PocketBracket: Men’s Basketball (Android, iOS $0.99) Do you have the knowledge to fill out the perfect bracket? It takes pure skill and know-how to pick a perfect March Madness bracket. With PocketBracket: Men’s College Basketball you can get your bracket game with an unlimited number of brackets. Create private pool brackets with your friends to see who has what it takes to pick out the winning teams. The app also offers updated game scores throughout the competition.

Office Pool Picker 2012 (Android, iOS $0.99) Can you be the next Office Pool Picker genius? With Office Pool Picker 2012, you have the ability to choose your teams with an interesting twist, personal preferences. Do you like birds or bees? Apples or Oranges? For each question that you answer, the more complete your bracket becomes. You don’t even have to think about basketball at all. This app provides you with an edge over the other office competition.
Brackets (Windows Phone Free) It’s been really difficult to find a good March Madness app for Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, but I like the looks and feel of Brackets. The functionality is limited, yet simple and a perfect fit for those who are participating in any March Madness pool.

This app does one and only one thing: it keeps track of your NCAA picks in a bracket format; helping you to see which teams you correctly picked. There’s a nice Live Tile for Brackets that shows how many current picks you have correct out of all completed games.
Kick back with your friends, enjoy a couple of cold ones and let the games begin.
